Πάνω στην ώρα για τα Χριστούγεννα, η Ακαδημία έκανε το καλύτερο δώρο σε μια σειρά από ταινίες, οι οποίες έχουν την τιμή να συμπεριλαμβάνονται στις πρώτες λίστες με τις υποψήφιες ταινίες για τα Όσκαρ 2024.
Οι ετήσιες βραχείες λίστες για τις κατηγορίες Διεθνής ταινία μεγάλου μήκους, Ντοκιμαντέρ, Ήχος, Πρωτότυπη μουσική, Πρωτότυπο τραγούδι, Μακιγιάζ και χτένισμα, Οπτικά εφέ, Μικρού μήκους ταινία ζωντανής δράσης, Μικρού μήκους ντοκιμαντέρ και Μικρού μήκους ταινία κινουμένων σχεδίων αποκαλύφθηκαν, ένα μήνα πριν ανακοινωθούν οι πλήρεις υποψηφιότητες για Όσκαρ.
Τα αναμενόμενα φαβορί για τα φετινά Όσκαρ, όπως το “Killers of the Flower Moon”, το “Barbie”, το “Poor Things” και το “Maestro”βρέθηκαν σε διάφορες κατηγορίες. Η “Barbie” ηγήθηκε με πέντε υποψηφιότητες στη βραχεία λίστα, το “Killers of the Flower Moon” είχε τέσσερις, ενώ τα “The Color Purple”, “Oppenheimer” και “Poor Things” απέσπασαν από τρεις υποψηφιότητες.
Η ψηφοφορία για τις υποψηφιότητες των Όσκαρ θα διεξαχθεί από τις 11 έως τις 16 Ιανουαρίου, ενώ οι επίσημες υποψηφιότητες θα ανακοινωθούν στις 23 Ιανουαρίου. Η τελική ψηφοφορία θα διεξαχθεί από τις 22 έως τις 27 Φεβρουαρίου, ενώ η 96η ετήσια απονομή των βραβείων Όσκαρ θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 10 Μαρτίου.
Η viral μπαλάντα της Barbie “I’m Just Ken”, που ερμηνεύει και συνυπογράφει ο ηθοποιός Ryan Gosling, περιλαμβάνεται στη λίστα με τα υποψήφια τραγούδια για το καλύτερο πρωτότυπο τραγούδι, μαζί με άλλα κομμάτια της “Barbie” από τις υποψήφιες για Όσκαρ τραγουδίστριες Billie Eilish και Dua Lipa.
